I hadn't been to this park in a long time and it was a very quiet and relaxing place to visit.

And this car was parked in the parking lot.

Orchids

Last year around this time I bought my first orchid, thinking that I may never get it to bloom again because apparently they require special care.  The flowers were beautiful and lasted a long time.  Since then I have been regularly watering it and that's about it. Now it has some buds!  While orchids are pretty flowers, the rest of the plant is unusual with the huge leaves at the bottom and the roots growing out of the top of the pot.

After the Rain

It seems the rain has come to an end for now although it is still quite dreary out.  Hopefully it warms up soon so we can sit outside again.  All this rain certainly has been great for the gardens and grass, everything seems to have grown so much already.

Stormy Weather

Last night after dinner I went down to a park along the lake in search of baby geese to photograph.  I didn't see any, perhaps they were already safely tucked away for the night.  It was quite windy and cool and the clouds were coming in with the promised rain for the next couple of days.  So I took photos of the sky, and today we are getting that rain.

Trying to Eat Well

I will admit that I have little will power when it comes to choosing a healthy snack.  The cookie usually wins, especially if chocolate is involved!  And I enjoying baking which means I just torture myself more.  So I decided I needed some reminder about choosing wisely and found this bracelet on Etsy.  If I wear it everywhere then I will be reminded even when not at home.

It came with a matching bracelet with a few other charms as well.

Out and About

It was a beautiful day for a walk today, warm sun, cool breeze.  Here are a few things seen on our walk.

It's Monday

Did the laundry as usual and also some baking since the weather has turned much cooler.  Then took the dog  to a park that has some gardens.  It was a little too breezy to get good shots of the flowers, but I managed a couple and then followed the path to the lake.

It looks like the water overflowed last week when we had lots of rain.
The sidewalk was covered in mud.
