As I was cleaning out my sewing cabinet this morning I found this tin of buttons. The tin is probably from one of our grandmother's houses and the buttons are just a collection from over the years. Some I recognize from dresses I made for myself or our girls, others are just the spare ones that come attached to our new clothes. Not sure what I will do with them, probably just put them back in the drawer for now.
I love old buttons and old tins. so cool
ReplyDeleteOn the photography note, the photos of the buttons remind me of a question that has popped up for me when photographing a pile of things: Where should the focus be? At the leading edge of the pile? In the center of the pile? a the rear of the pile? I know sometimes there is one particular item in the pile that I want to focus on, and then the decision is easy. But when it is just some random things, and I want the whole "pile" effect, where should it be?
I have a jar of buttons - some from my grandmother and great-grandmother and others from spares. They are mostly serving as a decoration but maybe one day I'll get the gumption and make something out of them.
