Last Rose of Summer

Since there are no more buds on the rose bushes and the weather is getting much colder this will probably be my last rose of the season.  I took better care of the roses this summer and they rewarded me with lots of blooms.   It is always nice to bring in a rose for the table.  Our roses are along the side of our house so our neighbour always tells me how much he enjoys the blossoms from his kitchen window.

    Pretty shot. Sad to see the roses go but, in my garden at least, winter also kills down the weeds and gives me a chance for a fresh start next spring so I try to comfort myself with that thought.
